we are voting for the giving tree
Aren’t these the same pictures and similar comments as last year?
Donna:
Last year, we had three covers but ALL of them were different from the three this year. The three catalogs from last year included the Whimsical Tree (current 2013 cover which is a Tiffany Blue), a traditional cover that had a green oaktree in a pasture (very grass green colored cover), and another one that was a close of up two acorns sitting on a rock (brown, tan and gray colored cover). This year, same “basic principles” appear but in the form of what I would consider very different cover concepts including the acorn cover (olive colored), the “giving tree” (white and yellow), and the silhouette (black and salmon colored). RE: the comments, perhaps some sound similar to those echoed in the past but they are not comments that have somehow been recycled to appear again. These are real people sharing real thoughts about our cover choices!
Acorns! It’s a beautiful photograph!
I was torn between the acorns and the giving tree and I chose the acorns just because I like the picture but which ever one you choose I will be happy with because I love OakTree products
Chris! Thanks for voting and for your feedback!
this is what I love about this entire concept of the vote; let those who take the time to VOTE make the decision as to what the cover of the OTP catalog should be. Polls are open the entire month of October so pass along the links and let everyone out there decide! Thanks again to all of you for participating, for providing feedback and for joining in on the fun.
The Giving Tree is a great metaphor for our field of hearing healthcare. I think it’s a great choice. Sorry, Marv.
I liked the giving tree as well just something about it gives out a caring feel… Thanks for including us again.
I chose the tree because thats what u are: a fully grown mature company not an acorn just starting out. I do like the idea of a giving tree socially but didnt want to look at dirt every time i pull out the catalogue. you’d hv to send out a bunch of acorns w/each order
The art contest sounds fun for next one
I chose the giving tree because that is what Oaktree products does..it gives! And it gives a product(s) that keep on giving in what their purpose is.
I like all three but especially the giving tree and acorn. The acorn cover fits the oak tree idea so well, but I choose the giving tree because it just fits the times… it feels environmentally conscious and it also taps into the way we all feel about our role in helping patients and your role in providing the products that let us help them.
We had about twenty covers initially and the employees at Oaktree provided their input to help select the three that resonated with most. It is always interesting to hear what people like and why. I used to just work with a graphic artist to create a cover and that was that; last year we decided to open it up to all to vote and I simply love that process. Even if the one cover you like the most doesn’t “win”, it is still nice to offer customers to have the power to influence the end result. Stay tuned! Winner announced in November.
Our office didn’t like the second one…we are in an agricultural area and it looks too much like a seed company catalog. How about an artwork competition for next year?
Kaycie:
your comment made me laugh out loud…yeah, we aren’t a seed company! I LOVE the idea of an artwork competition for next year. I can’t remember if this was suggested another time and we had simply forgot about it but I will plan on organzing an artwork competition for the 2015 cover. Great ideas, great feedback. Thank you so much!
The Giving Tree seemed to fit better with Providing Infinite Solutions
thanks for the feedback! It is ALWAYS interesting to see what our customers are thinking. Spread the word and let others know to vote through the month of October!
